Can blinds catch on fire

Unless stated, all blinds and curtains are flammable and will catch in the event of a fire. Therefore, if you are shopping for new blinds, you may need to check that the materials are flame resistant.
Here at Swift, we stock flame-retardant blinds that have all been tested in compliance with international standards. You can learn about our flame-retardant blinds here on the site.

Flame-tested blinds

Our flame-retardant (FR) treated fabrics have been tested to measure resistance to ignition. If the fabric does ignite, the fabric does not melt or drip. Plus, all our FR fabrics self-extinguish, making them ideal for offices, industrial environments, schools and hospitals.

For added peace of mind, all the FR fabrics we use are certified, and we can provide this via email upon request.

They come in a wide range of patterns and colours too, so you can take your pick from fire-safe blinds that fit with your décor.
