Patterned Curtains

The key to styling patterned curtains is letting them be the focal point of the room. Keep wall colours neutral, picking a background tone from the curtain's palette usually works well. Introduce one or two accent colours from the pattern into cushions or accessories to tie the room together, but avoid adding too many competing patterns elsewhere. One dominant pattern paired with more restrained textures on sofas, rugs, and bedding creates a balanced, confident interior.

Patterned curtains are very much in style as maximalist, expressive interior design continues to grow in popularity. Abstract, geometric, and graphic patterns have all seen strong trends in recent years, alongside the enduring popularity of botanical and floral designs. A well-chosen patterned curtain can transform a room and add personality in a way that plain curtains can't. The key is committing to the pattern, timid or under-scaled pattern choices can look half-hearted.
