Swift Direct Blinds Student Design Competition 2017 - "Motif: Pattern Design"

The Brief
To design a pattern that will be available for purchase as a roller blind from Direct Blinds.
We are looking for bold but creative designs that are suitable for print on a PVC fabric.

Our background
Swift Direct Blinds is a family run business with a rich heritage and a history of over 45 years. Today Swift Direct Blinds is an online-only brand, supplying quality, made-to-measure window blinds direct from the internet to customers nationwide.

Unlike most blind companies online, the vast majority of our blinds are made in our own factories by our own skilled workforce, employed from the local area using both traditional and modern manufacturing methods in order to produce high-quality blinds and curtains.

With our history and background in mind, we would like to offer new opportunities to young designers and creators who strive for new experiences and have a keen interest in textiles.

Eligibility
Undergraduate second or final year students from UK higher education institutions studying towards Textile/Design related degree

Entries are accepted from both individuals and teams of up to 3 students. We encourage collaborations between students from different courses (for example, Textiles and Graphic Design) Five shortlisted finalists will be contacted to verify their student status. We will ask for a scan or a photo of your student ID card.

An .eps or .ai file at 300 dpi resolution. When designing a pattern bare in mind that it should be suitable for print of at least 1x1 square meter.
