The pleated blinds’ mechanism requires a bit more delicacy and time to clean than with other types of blinds. This is because the blinds hang in a concertina style and are drawn up and down using guide wires. Therefore, when approaching cleaning them, you will need to be gentle.
Tools to use
The best way to clean them is to use a vacuum or duster. If vacuuming, always use a soft brush attachment to clear up dust and dirt from your pleated blinds. Whether you are using a vacuum or duster, you will need to be careful when cleaning your blinds to ensure you don’t ruin their pleated texture.
If you’re trying to get rid of a stain or mark, avoid spraying any cleaning detergent or water directly onto the blinds. Instead, use a clean dump cloth and apply gentle pressure to clean it.
Looking after your blinds
We recommend compressing the blind by drawing it upwards so that it gently folds towards the top rail. To retain crispness in the pleats, do this at least once every two weeks.
