What do the different Measurement Types Mean?

Recess Size

Choose this option when you want your blind to fit inside the window recess

Is Recess Size the one for you?

In simple terms this allows you to measure the size of the window recess and the blind will fit inside this space and won’t stick out into the room.  This will give a tidy professional appearance.

When we manufacture your blind, we will make sure we allow the correct tolerances so that the blind fits perfectly into your recess.

Exact Size

This option is the one to choose when you are NOT fitting your blind into the recess and it is important to you exactly what area the blind fabric covers. Always allow for an overlap past the glass on both sides as well as above and below, to get good coverage. We would recommend 10cm minimum all round.

Your Roman Blind will be made exactly to the sizes you give to us.

Lining

Our Standard lining is a light filtering sateen lining, perfect if you don’t want to completely block out the light. This works well in rooms where you would still like to let the light filter in. For example, the living room, dining room or hallways. The lining colour will be white or cream depending on your chosen roman blind, we colour match them perfectly depending on tone. 

Our Blackout Lining will completely block the light from coming through the fabric which is perfect for bedrooms and helping you get a better night’s sleep. This high-quality blackout lining also has thermal properties which helps better insulate your home and save you money on energy bills. We offer a free upgrade to blackout lining on a lot of our fabric collections. The lining colour will be white or cream depending on your chosen roman blind, we colour match them perfectly depending on tone. 

Our Thermal Lining is a thick lining with a fleecy underside. If you want to add extra thickness to fill your Roman Blinds out this is the perfect choice. The thick fleecy underside has superior thermal properties and will prevent heat from escaping and cold air entering the room, helping you to reduce energy usage and save on bills. Our thermal lining also has blackout properties making it suitable for any room in the home including bedrooms. The colour of this lining is off white.

Battery Power Options Explained

Standard Battery Wand

As standard your new electric wood blind will come with a slim battery wand which is fitted neatly behind the headrail and hidden from view. Just insert 8 x AA batteries and you’re good to go.

 

Li-ion rechargeable battery

Upgrade to a Somfy 12v Li-Ion rechargeable battery to easily recharge your blinds with an AC charger (the charger can be purchased in the next step). This battery is neatly hidden behind the headrail from view.

Remote Control Info

Single-channel Remote 
With the single-channel remote you can control 1 blind or 1 group of blinds (up to 8). We recommend the single channel remote if you are buying 1 blind or a group of blinds that you are happy to operate simultaneously, for example, 3 blinds in a bay window.

Muti-channel Remote 
If buying more than one blind, blinds for different rooms, or if buying one Electric Blind now but you may wish to add more to your home later, this five channel remote is perfect for you. This way you only need one remote to operate all your blinds. With the multi-channel remote you can program your blinds to different channels and different settings depending on how you want them to operate.
