Measuring Width

You can hook pencil pleat curtains onto a curtain track or ring for an easy installation. Once you have decided how to install your curtain, measure for the width, as seen below.

Curtain Poles

Measuring for a Curtain Pole

Measure the width of the pole where the curtains will hang, between any finials or end caps, this is your width measurement.

Curtain Tracks

Measuring for a Standard Curtain Track

On a standard curtain track measure the full width of the track, this is your width measurement.

Measuring for Curtain Tracks with Overlap

If your track has an overlap in the centre, measure the full width of the track (a) and the width of the overlap (b), this is your width measurement.

Please Note:

Please note that the width of the curtain fabric will be more than the width of your curtain pole/track to accommodate for the fullness of your chosen curtain header.

  • Pencil pleat is 200% fullness

  • Tip:

Select single curtains if you only one 1 curtains to cover the pole measurements already entered.

Select pair if you want 2 curtains to cover the pole/track measurements already entered

    Measuring Drop

Based on your chosen installation method, either measure from the bottom of the curtain ring or the top of the track.

Measure from the underside of the decorative ring to where you want the curtain to finish at the bottom.

    Decide On Your Perfect Length

The ideal length will depend on your window or door size, the room styling and your personal preference.

    Above Sill

    Resting Above the Window Sill

We recommend ending the curtain length at 1 cm above the sill when opting for curtains to be the same length as the window.

    Below Sill

    Falling Below the Window Sill

For curtains falling below the window sill, we recommend ending the curtain length 15-20cm below the sill.

    Floor Length

    Pooled

    Gently Pooled On the Floor

We recommend adding 5cm to your curtain length to create a gently pooled look.
