What do the different Measurement Types Mean?

All our made to measure curtains will be ordered with a measurement type ‘Finished Size’.  For us to make curtains at the proper finished size it is important that we have the correct width and drop measurements, we will then ensure we make the curtains are made to be full and luxurious giving the perfect finish for dressing your windows.

The width will need to be the total length of the pole or track for all heading types.

The drop for a pencil pleat or pinch pleat is either from the top of the track or the small eye on the ring for a pole.

For an Eyelet heading, the drop we need is from the top of the pole to the bottom hem of the curtain.  We will then automatically add around 3cm of curtain above the eyelet which stands above the pole.  This does not affect the overall hanging drop of your curtain.

Pair or Single

All our made to measure curtains are available made as either a pair or a single (left or right) curtain.

We ask the customer to provide the desired rail width and we provide curtains (pair or singles) that are wider than rail width to allow for the recommended fullness gather.

Pairs of curtains are 2 equal sized curtains, in total they will make up the width/ drop provided.

A left hand single curtain is one curtain, the total width/ drop provided.
A right hand single curtain is one curtain, the total width/drop provided.

For a single curtain it’s important we know, which side the curtain will be pulled to when open, this is because we use this information when stitching and manufacturing the fabric. Left hand means hangs on the left as you look out of your window and Right hand means hangs on the right as you out of your window.
