How to Measure Curtains - Wave
Our made-to-measure wave curtains are tailor-made for you. Designed to create a smooth, flowing ripple, Wave curtains get their signature look from a precisely fitted track – so the measurements matter. The good news? There’s nothing complicated about it. Just follow the steps below and we’ll handle the rest. If you need any help during the process, we’re just a call or live chat away.
Exact Fit - Recommended
Choose this if your window has no recess, or if you'd prefer to cover the recess entirely.
Measure the Width

When measuring for Exact Fit, you're measuring the size of the finished track and curtains. We won't make any deductions from your measurements.
Measure the full width of the window or window recess, adding at least 15cm overlap on each side.
Don't make any deductions.
Measure the Drop

Measure the full height of the window or window recess, adding at least 15cm above the window.
How much overlap you add at the bottom is up to you – just bear in mind any obstructions that might get in the way, like a radiator.
Don't make any deductions.
Bay Windows

If you have a bay window, we recommend following the Exact Fit measuring instructions and fitting your Wave curtains outside of the bay.
Recess Fit
Choose this if you want your curtains to sit inside the window recess.
Measure the Width

For Recess Fit, you're measuring the available space that the curtains will sit within.
We'll automatically deduct 1cm from the width and 1.5cm from the drop so everything fits neatly.
Measure the Drop

Measure in 3 places for both the width and the drop, then use your smallest measurement.
Don't make any deductions.
Recess Obstructions
Tiles or Other Obstructions

If you have tiles or any other obstructions in the recess, measure the space between them to find the narrowest width point of the recess.
Check Your Recess Depth

Before you order, check that your recess is deep enough.
You'll need at least 7.5cm of space in front of any obstructions, such as window handles.
