Chenille Curtains

Chenille is a soft, plush fabric with a distinctive velvety texture created by tightly twisted fibres that form a pile along the length of the yarn. Chenille curtains have a tactile, luxurious feel similar to velvet but with a slightly more casual, relaxed look. The fabric is naturally dense and heavy, making chenille curtains good at blocking light and providing some insulation. They work well in living rooms and bedrooms where a warm, cosy feel is the goal.

Due to the delicate nature of chenille fibres, machine washing is generally not recommended as the pile can be damaged or distorted. Dry cleaning is usually the safest option for chenille curtains, particularly for larger or interlined panels. For general upkeep, vacuum regularly on a low setting using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and prevent build-up. Always check the care label on your specific curtains before attempting to clean them.
