What do the different Measurement Types Mean?

Recess Size

Choose this option when you want your blind to fit inside the window recess

Is Recess Size the one for you?

In simple terms this allows you to measure the size of the window recess and the blind will fit inside this space and won’t stick out into the room.  This will give a tidy professional appearance.

When we manufacture your blind, we will make sure we allow the correct tolerances so that the blind fits perfectly into your recess.

Exact Size

This option is the one to choose when you are NOT fitting your blind into the recess and it is important to you exactly what area the blind fabric covers. Always allow for an overlap past the glass on both sides as well as above and below, to get good coverage. We would recommend 10cm minimum all round.

Your Roman Blind will be made exactly to the sizes you give to us.

Lining

All our Roman blinds are handmade with a fixed lining for a quality finish and greater functionality.

Blackout Thermal Lining – our recommended lining is the Blackout premium lining. This option gives added body to the luxurious folds of your blind whilst improving thermal insulation and reducing light penetration.

Interlined Blackout Thermal Lining -  Interlining adds a further layer of ‘wadding’ to your blind, further improving the hang, insulation and blackout properties. This type of lining is particularly recommended for lightweight fabrics and for ill-fitting potentially draughty, windows.

Standard Lining - A lightweight semi translucent fabric. We would always recommend one of our Blackout/Thermal lining options.
